Release Notes August 2024

What's new in Forest Admin πŸ‘€ βž• another sneak peek into our new Chrome extension.

Release Notes August 2024

In August, we released highly anticipated features such as multiple data sources in Forest Admin Cloud, support for polymorphic associations in Ruby on Rails and Python agents, and Inbox cross-team task assignments. We made multiple fixes and updates to improve the overall performance of the application, and finally, we worked hard on Forest Admin Assist, our upcoming Chrome extension. Let's dive in!

πŸ”Œ Our Chrome extension - Forest Admin Assist - is coming very soon πŸ₯

Tired of switching tools, and getting lost among all the open tabs? We get it... That's why we built Forest Admin Assist - a side panel that opens within your ticketing system be it Zendesk or Intercom. Forest Admin Assists gives you access to all relevant customer data and workflows right next to your current support ticket, so you can focus on the task at hand and avoid frequent context switching. Here's a sneak peek πŸš€

Last month we announced the pilot project with selected customers and the tests are about to start. We will soon open a 2nd batch of tests, so if you'd like to join the waiting list and be among the first users of Forest Admin Assist, fill out the form on the page below πŸ‘‡

☁️ Multiple data sources now supported on Cloud

All it took for Forest Admin to generate your admin panel was to connect a datasource. However, it is very useful to add more data sources later, especially if your app was built in a microservice architecture. The good news is that now it is also available for Forest Admin Cloud users. All you need to do is to go to Project Settings β†’ Environments and add a new data source! This feature is available to Admin and Developer permission levels.

πŸ’Ž πŸ”Ά  🐍 Β Polymorphic association support in Ruby on Rails, Laravel and Python agents

We know that when modeling your data, you want to take advantage of polymorphic associations that allow you to create models that belong to more than one other model or a single association. The good news is that now Forest Admin supports polymorphic associations in Ruby on Rails, Laravel and Python agents πŸŽ‰ The main advantage of polymorphic relationships is that they enhance the modularity of your applications and minimize redundancy.

➑️➑️➑️ New to Inbox: Cross-team task assignments

The recent improvement to Inbox allows you to assign tasks to anyone - you are no longer limited to your own team. Just trigger a native action "Assign to...", choose the team, the relevant use case and the user.
